Lit Fragrance Collection
Fragrance, a smell, usually sweet or pleasant. In the world we live in today, first impressions have become everything in most places worth being. Your scent happens to be a big part of all this. However, perfumes at the end of the day really are more of a luxury than an actual need. Lizzie Ng’ang’a, founder and CEO of Lit Fragrance Collection understood this and tasked us with increasing her fragrance brand outreach and consequently, her revenue.
We designed the Lit Fragrance Collection visual identity from the ground up, capturing the simplicity, vibrancy and playfulness that the brand sought after through their logo, small media print i.e. business card & flyer, packaging and digital marketing content.
The brand officially launched in January 2019 and her sales and social media engagement have indeed picked up, with customers even asking if she ships her products outside of Nairobi.

Digital Marketing Content Design
Lizzie, a self employed entrepreneur, wife and mother, had this brainchild of a fragrance brand that had a unique take on how it would serve its customers. She sought to creatively bridge the gap between luxury and affordability. She also wanted to have a platform where she could educate her customers on the makeup of different scents out there, helping them figure out which ones would work best for their individual chemical makeups.
Before she met us through a referral from a former client of ours, Sheba Njagi, CEO & Founder of GoForth, she already had a logo and flyers which she was using to market her services, however, she felt that this didn’t quite capture what she wanted The Lit Story to be about.
We took her through our first meeting workbook to learn a little more about her goals and objectives for the brand and a few words kept resurfacing during that discussion. Words which were keen to take down as we found that they would govern every single design decision from that point onward and defined the brand personality. We took all this into account then kicked off our process.
Logo & Small Print Media
The design journey here began at the logo design, where we explored various design directions based on Lizzie’s goals. The main challenge here was to find that fine line between simplicity and distinction. Once that was set in place, the business cards and flyers followed suit.
To keep it as simple yet as playful as possible, we decided to incorporate the abstracted flame in the Lit name, along with the brand colors on the boxes. On the bottle label, Lizzie found it important to further add a personal touch by placing a short message behind the bottles, welcoming her customers to her small fragrance community.
Social Media Design
Lizzie understood that her main audience was social media savvy hence tasked us to finally design her social media pages i.e. cover images and profile pictures for the Lit Facebook and Instagram pages.
